Solar energy - Statistics from around the Globe

• In the year 2017-18, India has successfully produced 25,871 GWh of Solar Energy, a whopping increase of more than 45% since the last year.
• A study published by researchers from Switzerland says solar panels mounted on mountaintops instead of rooftops can bridge the gap between demand and production during winter months.
• India is gripping onto the idea of Floating Solar Power plant wherein the solar energy transmission uses the same lines used by hydropower, thereby solving problems arising due to connectivity and transmission.
